Strength Training
for Cyclists
Stronger, faster, healthier.
Elevate your cycling
The Benefits
-
Our muscles are made up of many muscle fibres
Training for strength involves training your nervous system to use as many muscle fibres as needed to overcome an external force.
Neuromuscular adaptation is a key aspect of increasing muscular strength. This means your nervous system learns to communicate better with your muscles to produce movement and force.
-
Strength training also strengthens the tendons (which connect muscles to bones) and ligaments (which connect bones to each other). Stronger tendons and ligaments become more resilient and less prone to injury.
Strong muscles around a joint help to stabilise that joint, reducing the risk of injuries.
Having fewer injuries means you can achieve greater consistency over time, which is the most important factor for your health and training.
-
Performing strength training through a full range of motion increases your mobility and flexibility.
Single sided exercises can target imbalances between sides so that you become balanced.
This can lead to more comfortable cycling and the possibility to hold more dynamic and faster riding positions.
-
Do you want to ride well your whole life?
Strength training helps to maintain muscle mass and decrease the rate of muscle loss as we age.
More power. More speed. More comfort.
More consistency
